Preface
The Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment is honoured to collaborate with The National Resilience Institute (Lembaga Ketahanan Nasional/ LEMHANNAS) to co-host The 8th Jakarta Geopolitical Forum 2024, which is
titled “Addressing Geo-Maritime Resilience Challenges in The Indo-Pacific.”
The maritime domain is no longer a traditional security and power perspective; rather, it is a domain that is linked to a variety of sectors and issues as a result of the emergence of complexities and uncertainty.
The coordinating ministry for maritime affairs in Indonesia is also aware of the importance of addressing the region’s increasing vulnerabilities and fragmentation in the maritime domain.
LEMHANNAS RI and KEMENKO MARVES intend to convene the region’s foreign and defence officials, experts, professionals, and practitioners to exchange perspectives and engage in constructive discussions regarding the geo-maritime resilience challenges in the region by co-hosting this forum. The objective is to identify and collaborate on strategies to address the ongoing and future maritime resilience challenges.
