Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The peer review process is a cornerstone of academic validation, whereby a submitted manuscript is rigorously evaluated by expert reviewers with relevant subject matter expertise, while ensuring independence from the authors and the work itself. Proceeding Jakarta Geopolitical Forum  employs a double-blind peer review system, which safeguards the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. To uphold this confidentiality, the Editorial Office removes all identifying details from manuscripts prior to initiating the review process.

Each manuscript submitted to JGF is assessed by at least two independent reviewers. Should the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, or any member of the Editorial Board be involved as (co-)authors of a submission, they are excluded from any evaluation or decision-making related to that manuscript.

Submissions undergo a fair, impartial, and constructive peer review process. Only manuscripts demonstrating scientific rigor, originality, and relevance will receive positive recommendations for publication.

The Editor-in-Chief holds full authority regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts. Reviewers are obliged to maintain confidentiality of the content throughout the review and prior to publication, and to declare any conflicts of interest. Reviewers found to have conflicts will be recused from the review. Reviewers are also encouraged to recommend pertinent literature that authors may have overlooked.

Following reviewer reports, the Editor-in-Chief or an appointed Editorial Board member will make an initial decision:

  • Accepted — Manuscript is approved for publication.

  • Revised — Manuscript requires modification and resubmission.

  • Rejected — Manuscript does not satisfy the journal’s criteria.

Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or Editorial Board member, who may either:

  • Return the manuscript to the original reviewers for further assessment, or

  • Render a final publication decision.

This rigorous peer review process ensures that Proceeding Jakarta Geopolitical Forum publishes only high-quality, original, and impactful research, thereby upholding its commitment to academic excellence.
