Preface
As part of a three-year forum series, the Jakarta Geopolitical Forum VIII/2024 continues the Geo-Maritime theme that has been the focus for the past two years. This year’s Forum marks the conclusion of this series, bringing together innovative ideas and groundbreaking discussions. For this edition, we have extended invitations to 85 embassies from friendly nations in Indonesia and esteemed think tanks from both national and international levels.
Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
We are honoured to have an exceptional lineup of speakers representing various stakeholders. These include experts in maritime governance, maritime security specialists, industry leaders, and representatives from international organisations such as UNODC and the ICRC. They will offer insights on four key subthemes: geopolitics and maritime governance, strategic partnerships in maritime industries, maritime security challenges, and envisioning future maritime resilience in the region.
This year, we are proud to co-host the Forum with the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment. As always, Lemhannas remains committed to adapting to the evolving global landscape.
In conclusion, we aspire for Lemhannas and the Jakarta Geopolitical Forum to be the go-to platform for those passionate about geopolitical issues.
